I love food. I mean, who doesn’t? You need to eat it to survive. Plus, there are so many terrific ways to prepare it. After all, you eat with your eyes first. So there’s no reason your food shouldn’t look as good as it tastes. I’ve always enjoyed going through different recipes for the Halloween season and trying new ways to both prepare and display them. I’ve read about Roger’s Gardens a lot in the past and how impressive not only is their Halloween merchandise but also their displays. It wasn’t until I saw photos online when I believed all the stories! I’ve yet to visit them as they’re about an hour away, but I think a pumpkin spice latte and a nice autumn drive will be on the agenda this year.

Being an art director and set decorator means I spend a lot of time looking at interior design. Whether it be for television, commercial or film, I usually have a stack of design magazines at hand to reference. During this time of the year I am always inspired by the use of black and gothic accents in design. So here are some favorites. Enjoy.

The night is finally upon us. We’ve spent many October nights waiting for its arrival. Feasting on treats, filling our sleep with nightmares and sneaking up on our loved ones to give them a fright. Yes, we’ve waited patiently for this night that comes but only once a year. So here is wishing you and yours a frightfully fun night full of mischief and adventure. Dim the lights and let the faint breeze of the night drift through the windows. Let the hair on your neck raise as you take out the garbage, fearing that the rattling in the bushes is not a mere rabbit but something truly terrifying. Let your jack o’ lanterns burn through the early hours of the morning to ward off Stingy Jack and look up to the full moon in hopes to see a witch fly across on her broom. Raise your hot cider to the magic that is… Halloween.

Well, although temperatures in California have been extremely high - 100 degrees high, I couldn’t resist from making the first Halloween purchase of the year. Then displaying it in all of its glory. The first of many and hopefully cooler temperatures are on the way!

I decided to jump on the band wagon that is known as Pinterest recently and must say, it’s pretty awesome. Being able to collect photos of what inspires me and share them with people has been fun. So, if you haven’t done so already, head on over to our Pinterest page and browse away.

Always love to see kid movies with a strong sense of horror and all that is macabre. I am really liking the movie posters for this movie and have enjoyed seeing them up around Los Angeles.
