Saw these posted on a blog recently and instantly began thinking of what ghoulish entrée I could create with them. They’re called Fiddlehead Ferns (wiki). I’ve never seen them at the local grocery store or farmer’s market so I think they’re hard to come by. Learn more about them here and on wikipedia. Roasted centipede anyone?

Now this is awesome! I especially like the contrast in the photo with the green flower arrangement. The wallpaper is by Graham & Brown and can be purchased here.

What a terrific idea. Using birch bark tubes around lighting fixtures would make a great addition to the home haunt. Place them throughout your graveyard infront of tombstones, under trees or line your walkways/walls to create a illuminated pathway for trick or treaters. To create your own, click here.

Alfred Hitchcock presents nine short stories that are sure to make young readers shiver (while they get a good dose of some fine writing!). Includes “The Red-Headed League” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; “The Treasure in the Cave” by Mark Twain; “Jimmy Takes Vanishing Lessons” by Walter R. Brooks; “The Forgotton Island” by Elizabeth Coatsworth; “The Water Ghost of Harrowby Hall”; and more. Accompanying the stories are the frightfully good two-color illustrations by Fred Banbery.
