A Chilling Collage

Posted by Johnny | Posted in The Manor | Posted on 28-09-2008

When viewing my albums on Flickr and seeing all of the thumbnails neatly organized, it inspired me to create something similar in Photoshop. Seeing all the interesting (yet similar) colors is truly very interesting, I feel it portrays Love Manor 2007 very very well. I hope you enjoy!

A Martha Stewart Halloween

Posted by Johnny | Posted in Inspiration | Posted on 25-09-2008

Martha Stewart has inspired my home haunt in many different ways and I’m certainly not afraid to admit it. Her new October issue has hit stands and I do encourage everyone to take a peak at what it has inside. Here are some inspiring pictures from her current and pasts issues that have encouraged me to take on new and terrifying ideas for my very own display. Enjoy and happy early days of Fall!

Be sure to visit www.MarthaStewart.com for more ghastly Halloween ideas.

Love Manor in Woman’s Day Magazine!

Posted by Johnny | Posted in The Manor | Posted on 22-09-2008

Well, I’m a bit late in posting this however I wanted to let everyone know that Woman’s Day Magazine has chosen to use one of my photos in their Halloween Celebrations magazine! You can see the photo in the Reader’s Scrapbook section. I’m very pleased and honored that they selected one of my photos and that it’s on the shelves pretty much anywhere that sales magazines (yes, I moved them to the front when I was at Barnes & Noble, lol). I’ll post pictures of the actual magazine and page soon!

Here’s the picture they chose:

Potion Cabinet and Labels

Posted by Johnny | Posted in Projects, The Manor | Posted on 20-09-2008

I decided this year that one of my projects for 2008 would be a new “yet old looking” potion cabinet to place in the kitchen. Last year, I found a vintage hutch witch was painted black and then aged. It definitely was a conversation piece however I feel that it limited what could be done, and was a bit large for the area. So, I decided to build my own and will post pictures shortly!

In order to get some inspiration for this project, I decided to start designing some labels for various bottles that would be displayed on the shelves that would be built into the cabinet. A friend sent me some great Photoshop brushes from Deviant Art to help give them that great look. Here are a few (below) that I feel are some of the best I came up with.

I look forward to keep you all updated on this project! I’ll post pictures of the shelf within the coming days.
